Short Treks – 1hr, 2hr,1/2 day, full day

The short trek routes are designed to give all riders an enjoyable scenic ride. They can be easily adapted to suit the level of experience of the riders booked, or to accommodate the needs of specific groups. We operate all year round, except Christmas day, depending on weather conditions – as the hill country can become very slippery in wet conditions.

Our horses are trained to walk through the last paddock home, so they come in cool & relaxed!

1 HOUR TREKS – these are gentle treks suitable for all levels of riders, including those with no prior riding experience. The trek winds through the magnificent Meersbrooke Reserve, before returning across open farmland and through small mountain steams. This is usually a walking pace trek & our guides are happy to offer lead line options for nervous riders or children.

Great idea for birthday treat!

2 HOUR TREKS - these start off through the delightful bush trails of Meersbrooke Reserve, before heading up into the hill country and along well tracked ridge tops. Wander back down to the flats and home alongside a mountain stream. This trek has opportunities for confident riders to trot & canter on some uphill sections.

Not suitable younger children unable to ride independently, or riders nervous about going up & down bigger hills.
